LONDON (AP) — BP PLC said Wednesday that it had made a “giant” oil discovery in the Gulf of Mexico but had not yet determined the size and commercial potential of the find.
Now isn’t that just wonderful. Why didn’t American Oil companies find this oil field in our back yard? Is it because legally they couldn’t look there? Are our “green” laws too restrictive? Or, do we really want to become less dependent on foreign oil? Are there people in power, liberal, left, green wackos that really want us on our knees?
Common sense says that American Oil companies should have been there first, after all, the discovery happened:
he well, in Keathley Canyon block 102 about 250 miles (400 kms) southeast of Houston, is in 4,132 feet (1,259 meters) of water, the company said.
That is to say, 250 miles from perhaps our national oil center? How far did BP have to sail to get there?
I’m sick and tired of our panty-waisted energy policies.
