A great article in the SUN describes how Prince William’s ship seized a speedboat with 900 kilos of cocaine aboard. While the article gushed about the perfect and well-oiled efforts of the entire crew and the American Coast Guard Drug Interdiction Team, it mentioned an organisation I’ve never heard of before, and I’ve read a lot of spy novels. This new body, the Serious Organised Crime Agency is new to me. It all sounds so like a Monty Python agency that I couldn’t help but laugh. Is there a “Not So Serious Organised Crime Agency”?, or perhaps, the “Playfully Organised Crime Agency”?
Kudos to the suited gentlemen who thought up that name. Do they call it SOCA for short?
