Half-time and Texas is behind 6-3. Ohio State is a good team, but not a great team. If Texas has any pretensions to the championship, it needed to win this won big, very big. Doesn’t look like it will happen.
I’ll update after the game.
The game is over, and Texas managed to eke out a 24-21 victory over Ohio State. Texas showed some grit with its come-from-behind victory with its final drive taking nearly the last two minutes of the game. The Longhorns played well, defeated a pretty good Ohio State team, but did not play National Championship caliber football.
Ohio State was handicapped by playing a true-freshman at quarterback most of the game. Young Pryor did a pretty good job and will only improve to be one heckuva quarterback over the next couple of years.
Thursday will see the big struggle, two offensive powers going at it, but both vulnerable with losses during the early part of the year. We’ll have to see who has matured enough to grab the championship.
Go Sooners.
